BECAUSE EVERY CHILD DESERVES

A SAFE & HAPPY CHILDHOOD

HELP US PROVIDE HOPE & HEALING TO SOUTHERN ILLINOIS CHILD VICTIMS OF ABUSE IN JEFFERSON, MARION, WASHINGTON, WAYNE, HAMILTON, CLINTON AND CLAY COUNTIES.

Our Impact

The Amy Shulz Child Advocacy Center, lovingly known as The Amy Center, is dedicated to providing a safe, effective, and comforting first response to child abuse by working collaboratively with law enforcement, child protection, and state's attorneys to reduce the need for a child to have to tell their traumatic story repeatedly, as well as provide a welcoming, unintimidating environment. Through our advocacy, forensic interviews, prevention education, and comfort closet we serve thousands of children within the Southern Illinois communities.

Child Counseling

Our Mission

The Amy Schulz Child Advocacy Center is providing a safe place for children who are victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, or have witnessed traumatic domestic violence. The board, staff and multi-disciplinary team members work together to provide trauma-informed intervention, prevention, education, and advocacy services for the best interest of abused children.

Children Embracing in Circle

Our Process

Alleged victimized children are referred from either law enforcement or DCFS when a report has been made and an investigation has been initiated with the respective department.

Join Our Movement

While we acknowledge each new case is heartbreaking, we remember that each child who walks through our doors, as well as their non-offending family members, are receiving all available and applicable services to best help them find hope, healing, and even justice. Our services, and all additional referred services, are free of charge to the victims. We rely completely on grant funding and private donations. Please consider giving to our cause and helping abused children.
